The Menning is a Mandala

The Menning, the ecological civilization, is a mandala of classical order. It will form a living pattern, an interweaving of needful elements in a balance-point of extremes, to bed gently in the Edhli, Nature, and weave to oneness with its whole.

The Cherrenge

The Billywit, as he is simple, mild, and kindly, readily takes-in the Drygand's Siden, clean through to the marrow, where it dwells and works a cherrenge. The nerve-marrow inside the skull and backbone becomes the Ram-headed Snake, which also hight the Drygand-Within. And in the brain-marrow the Lodestone does grow. And from the marrow of the many bones grows-out a glassy new flesh within the old, to a shining Body of Light, as from the bones-out bilds the Edhli-mensch, the new man of the Edhli-menning, who is thane to the Drygand, hight then, Drygand-Alf, who now dwells in this wondrous Body that is open to all the Edhli.

Billywit (OEng bilewit)= someone worthy of receiving the Drygand's gift.

Siden (OEng siden ~OIce seidhr, Skt siddha= magic)al power)= influence on others.

Cherrenge (~Lat 'change')= the change to ecological post-humanism.

Ram-headed Snake= a mysterious mythic creature of prehistoric Europe.

hight (MEng)= 'is called'.

Lodestone= an organ of maegisch power and inner guidance.

bild (Ger bilden)= to form, shape, cultivate, improve one's mind, become civilized.

Edhli-mensch (OIce edhli= Nature)= Man of the Biosphere.

Edhli-menning= the Biospheric Civilization.

Widdersets (Opponents)

the Searuvel (Evil Machine) against the Wolken (the evolved mind-being of the Biosphere).
-Searuvel= searo (cleverness, cunning, artifice, cunning device, engine, machine) + vel (~wile; approximately the same as searo) + uvel (~evil; evil machine).
-Wolken= cloud.

the Screenworld (the false reality of the Searuvel) against Santh (true reality).
-Santha= truth, that which is.

the Wasteland (Eydhiland) against the Green Earth (the Verden).
-Verden= Earth.

the Drauga (the destructive demon of the Searuvel) against the Drygand (avatar of the Wolken, champion of the Edhli).
-Drauga(Persian)= demon. Draugr(Old Norse)= undead inhabitant of a burial mound who wreaks destruction on the countryside).
-Drygand= dry (~druid; magician, magic) + gand= magic, magic thing.

Unwights (ghosts in the machine(Searuvel)) against Vaettes (land-wights, genii).

Uvel-gumenn (human agents of the Searuvel) against the Alfar (transhuman thanes of the Drygand).
-Guma= man.
-Alfar= the Light-alfs.

The above material is a large chunk of the Mythos as currently constituted.

The Deepster as a Guide

One of the things that Deep Ecology is about is to work for sibbship (a peaceful relationship) with the Edhli (Biosphere) and the Wolken, its being-mind.

One of the things a Deepster does is to try to help others toward such sibbship. As he's a Drygand-alf, and so the Lodestone dwells within his brain-marrow, one of his wealds (powers) is Alf-siden (alfisch influence on others). So he may be able to draw others into the Otherworld, there to find an opening to the Wolken. Or he may draw them into the Twyrymet, where Otherworld and Edhli meld, so that for them the World becomes drenched in maegisch-mistryne (magical-mystery). Or he may use his siden as allure, so that he is beheld himself as the Drygand (avatar of the Wolken), and can speak straight into their minds, to start the Lodestone growing there.

And all of this is done to help others find right sibbship with the Edhli and Wolken, to draw them into the brotherhood of Drygand-alfs, perhaps to become themselves a Deepster, or even an Alf-kynecht (Edhli-warrior), all for the sake of saving the Edhli from the Dilgoth (the Extinction Event).

This is the adhel (noble) work of the Deepster.
