Hal, the Hald of Feorgen

Hal is orgyten of Feorgen when the Twayne gave the Lode to the Alwight, who then became Drygand, and from this fullness of time sprang Hal forth to hald Feorgen from the Searuvel, with the help of Drygand, Drylar, and Alfaer.

Hald(gmc.)= champion, preserver, protector.
orgyte(OEng)= pour out, manifest.
Feorgen is like a biologically-based form of Brahma, as Living Nature ensouled.
The Twayne, Wildiar(Will) and Bilwit(Bill), are like precursors of Drygand and Hal, respectively, inasmuch as Drygand is a force for magical transformation (like Shiva) and Hal for preservation and good order (like Rama, avatar of Vishnu).
The Alwight was playful Pan-chimaera, but the shaping intelligence of the Lodestone, a pearl-like growth of the Wolken, the Mind-realm of  Feorgen, changed the Alwight to Drygand.
The Searuvel is reified and institutionalized human evil ensouled, something like Ahriman of Zoroastrianism (Persian dualism) and his subsequent better-known forms.
The Drylar are something like a hybrid of Tolkien's Rangers and High Elves, while the Alfaer are more like his Wood-elves.

Deepness

The essential, foundational mythic-metaphysical Idea of early German Romanticism was the animist notion that Nature is ensouled (the 'World Soul').  It had the function of healing the split between Man and Nature by conflating the inner depth of the Person with the outer depth of the Cosmos, into a Whole.  This was a metaphysical belief of the philosophers, but, now as then, many do not experience Reality in this way or believe that it is true.  But it is a necessary fiction, that requires a state of suspension of disbelief, in which analogistic/symbolic thinking is accepted, such as occurs in dream or trance, so that one can believe in it, but also disbelieve when strict rationality is required.  This was a sophistication lost on the German philosophers, it seems. 
Ecology, both in its shallow and deep aspects, was the creation of 19th century German Romantic Idealist culture.  It is based on the perception/belief of the Oneness of Mind and Nature-- that is, in a World Soul or Nature-Mind, but specifically in a transhuman Mind of Nature (biospheric).  This unifying archetypal ecological Idea is the energizing creative basis for a 'New Mythology' (spoken of by the early German Romantics) necessary to interpret Reality so that a new ecological culture-civilization embedded in, one with, Living Nature can be formed.  It is a simple, coherent, viable, and powerful value-idea that will override those undergirding the old culture-civilization.  The presence of this transformative quality is what we call 'Deepness'.

Higher

It is by being our animal self that we've done so much damage to the planet.  We must either return to primal stupidity in which natural selection keeps us in balance with Nature, or we must evolve the wisdom-power of our brain-minds so that we both see and will the way of ecological balance-- rational and science-based behavioral restraint and action-- this is the essence of Deep Ecology.  Deep Ecology is higher civilization.  The Mennings of the future will be higher than the human animal, but without becoming machines.  Something new, but a part of Nature.

Truth

We are all slaves to the Machine we have made.  Now it makes us.  We think we are saving ourselves by working the Machine.  But we will become monsters, to better serve the Machine, which we think we control, to serve ourselves.  But the Machine is destroying the planet, and when the Biosphere goes, so do the monsters.

Tell me that all this is not true.

Hal Ingend of the Menning

Hal Twayneson is the immixed whole of his fathers' two natures-- Wildiar's wild shamanic creativity and Bilwit's mild sacred-kingly stability.  To the Menning, Hal brings the creative fermentation of the one and the enduring sustaining-power of the other, and as he is the Orgyte, the manifestation of the strong harmonious balance of the Twayne, both stagnation and chaos are avoided, and common-weal is ensured.  He is thus Hal the Ingend, regenerating the Menning as needed, while sustaining the saving-power of its ecological ethos, as did Lord Ing in the ancient days.  He is Lord Ing remade.

Hal= foster-son of the Twayne: Wildiar and Bilwit.
Ingend= the ever-begetter of good ecological order.  Ger. jungen= to bring forth the young, of animals. *Ingwaz= the Vanic god of fertility and prosperity, the model of the Sacred King.
Menning= the coming ecological culture-civilization.  Ice. menning= culture, civilization.
