(word-meanings to follow)
When the Twayne brought the Lodestone to the Drygand and then gave it to him, the Stone came into him and he became the mighty Halleth of the Edhli, to ward it and ernern it from the Dilgoth. The Twayne then were made the first of his kynechts, and in time, many of the Alfar became his Alf-kynechts, thanes in dienst to the Edhli, having sworn troth to the Sake of Edhli-frith and showed by their deeds this troth.
When an Alf swears his troth before the Drygand, he gets from him the Lodestone, in a drench of grene-fyre. And the Stone then comes to sit in his marrow, and the Edhli-wisdom of the Wolken and the Forn-wields of the Drygand flow from the Stone and come to fill him. And a token of this inner Cherrenge is seen in the Drygand-hame that shows as fur or feather or scale over him, at some times, foremostly while one is in the Twyrymet. And this is called "same-haming the Drygand", as the Drygand can look like any living thing or blend of them.
To have the Drygand-hame shows that one has taken to himself the Lodestone and sworn the Troth and become a true Alf and halleth. This does not mean that one has tamed the Drygand and taken to oneself thereby his wields, but instead that one has been taken by the Drygand as his own kynecht, but a free kynecht, a thane, not tamed by him either, but rather hamed by him.
